**Update May 29, 2007**

AMO has announced a voluntary recall for the Complete Moisture Plus Multi-Purpose solution for similar reasons as the Bausch and Lomb Re-Nu recall a year ago.

It has been pulled from the shelves in light of an investigation by the CDC concerning cases of Acanthamoeba, a water borne organism that can cause severe, painful eye infection, leading to possible vision loss. There is no concern at this moment, but AMO has voluntarily removed the solution from the marketplace until the CDC completes its investigation. It has been recommended by AMO to discontinue use of Complete at this time until further testing is done. You may use any other multipurpose solution like Alcon's Opti-Free, or a peroxide system like ClearCare or UltraCare.

If you wish to return your product, please call AMO at 1-888-899-9183 and they will send you a return card and shipping labels to do so. If you have sample sizes that you received from our office, you may bring those in, and we will exchange it for a sample of another solution. In all cases of concern, good hygiene, proper lens handling and disinfection and normal lens changes as recommended to you by Drs. Rodney or Dale should be sufficient to be safe from any contamination concerns. Here are some general guidelines to follow for good contact lens care:

Carefully and regularly clean contact lenses, as directed by an optometrist and the patient information included with lens care products.

Rub the contact lenses with fingers and rinse thoroughly before soaking the lenses overnight in enough multi-purpose solution to completely cover the lens.

Store lenses in the proper case and replace the lens storage case every three months. Clean the contact lens case after each use and keep the case open and dry between cleanings.

Use the proper products to clean and disinfect contact lenses as recommended by your optometrist.

Remember that saline solutions and rewetting drops are not designed to disinfect lenses.

Only fresh solution should be used to clean and disinfect contact lenses. Never re-use old solution. Contact lens solution must be changed every day, even if the lenses are not used daily.

Always replace old contacts when you get a new contact prescription.

Always change your contacts on a regular basis as recommended by the manufacturers and our doctors, whether it be daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly. In no cases should you be using a soft contact lens prescribed by our office longer than one month.

If you are experiencing any of the following, please call our office or come in to have one of the doctors take a look at your eyes:

--Red and irritated eyes that last a long time even after lens removal

--Pain in or around the eyes that progressively gets worse

--Increased to light sensitivity

--Rapid onset of blurred or fuzzy vision

--Excessive tearing or discharge
